We have once again teamed up with Northgate Arts College on what is panning out to be our most exciting project yet!

If you find yourself wandering through Kingsthorpe, Northampton down the Harborough Road (just opposite Lloyds Bank) you will Have no choice but to step into the Place To Bee for a coffee and a bag of sweets. This being our brand new sweet shop/ café/ job centre/ life skills / all around perfect stepping stone for setting up men and women with learning disabilities for the real world!

The Place to Bee is fully equipped for Vocational training in Retail, Hospitality, Customer Service and Life Skills.

Firstly, the Place to Bee is the new home of Kingsthorpe’s very own old fashioned sweet shop, Sweet Bee 🍭🍬. It will continue to sell a range of pic n’ mix sweets, whilst offering seasonal sweet products. The service users will learn the ins and outs of Retail and Customer Service in Sweet Bee.

The brand new café will be completely operated by men and women with learning disabilities. Our cafe will be supplied with beautiful cakes from The Bee hive kitchen. We are now fully operational, so you can enjoy a fresh Barista style coffee and a slice of homemade cake inside. 🍰

Last, but certainly not least, when you venture upstairs you will find a fully functioning Life Skills flat to practice skills for adult life. Learning how to make a bed, using the washing machine and cooking - the perfect space to learn through a hands on experience!
